Questions

Do we need to install anything?

No. Guests scan a QR code and use their phone's browser.

What if the venue has no Wi-Fi?

We bring our own network. Guests can also join over mobile data where coverage allows.

How loud is it?

Sized for the room. For outdoor council sites, noise conditions come with the permit.

Do you bring a screen?

Not yet. We plug our laptop into the venue's TV or projector (HDMI); at home, your TV works. No screen where you are? Tell us when you book and we will sort it out with you.

What languages?

The screen and guest pages are in English. The song library includes English, Russian and Ukrainian, and we add to it on request.

Who holds the music licence?

Licensed venues report karaoke, DJ or quiz nights under their own OneMusic licence. Home celebrations such as birthdays and weddings need no licence. Events on council land are covered by the council's own licence. Corporate events: the organiser or venue holds it; we tell you what to ask for. (Confirmed with OneMusic NZ, October 2026.)

Can guests pick songs you don't have?

At private parties, yes, through YouTube's own player when the host allows it, under YouTube's terms. At venue and public nights we play from our library, and we add songs on request before the night.

Do you do weddings?

Yes. The wedding package covers the ceremony (microphones and music) and the evening with a DJ we hire for your night, from $1,600. Ceremony only from $350. Full-day production is by arrangement.

Where do you travel?

Auckland, with the North Shore as home; travel included within 25 km of Browns Bay.

Can I hire the gear without an operator?

No. Every booking comes with our operator, who sets up, runs the night and packs down.

Policies

Travel

Included within 25 km of Browns Bay; $1.50 per km beyond, each way.

Deposit

30% on booking for private events. Venues are invoiced after each night.

Cancellation

Full refund 14 days out; the deposit is kept inside 14 days. A weather date swap is free for outdoor events.

Extra time

$100 per extra hour, operator and equipment, on any package.
